I've been collecting emails that are basically memes of the Nigerian minister scam. This is the first one ever sent to me via the comments section of my blog. I find it funny, fascinating and infuriating, all at once:

I am writing this from Mount Mary Hospital Buea where I was admitted on the 7th August 2002 for treatment from gun shot by a gendarme officer who was in the same vehicle with me on the same day at Mutengene . I am a Nigerian from OHAKPU ORU Local Government Area of Imo state ,Nigeria and resident here in Cameroon at Akwa, Douala. Tel; 237 7628845 /3423352.
I boarded a Tchatcho Express bus No : SW 2230 from Douala to Kumba on this day in question and at Mutengene the vehicle dropped some passengers and was also trying to pick some pasengers from Mutengene to Kumba. The park workers in Mutengene would not allow this vehicle to carry any passengers from Mutengene. After some distance the driver picked a passenger . This park workers manifested by hitting the vehicle. The driver trying to drive out scratched a taxi, the driver stopped to know what happened. The gendarme officer came out of the tchatcho bus and moved straight to where the park workers were ‘ which was about 150metres from where the driver stopped ‘ the gendarme officer’ arrested one of the workers. The gendarme however released the man after dialogue and exchange of words for about fourty minutes.
I was at the back of our tchatcho bus I could not go near the crowd because I knew I was having a lot of money with me . Our passengers now returning to join our bus after the matter. The gendarme coming near the tchatcho bus released a gun shot into the air and next one was on me which passed through my buttocks and burst out through my penis. I fell down and was restless , it was the gendarme’s collegue who was not in uniform and also a passenger in the Tchatcho bus took me to the Buea Military hospital and he explained to them what happened to me. The officers on duty recorded my name as Mba Mark Anochili but I was refused admission into their hospital and directed the gendarme’s collegue to take me to the Mount Mary Hospital where I am presently receiving treatment.
After three days a gendarme officer came and introduced himself to me as the commandad de brigade of Tiko . He recorded a statement from me about what happened and since then I have not seen him nor the gendarme officer who shot me. I have not also seen the driver of the Tchatcho bus nor the manager or the director.
Sir, I am making this appeal to you as a democratic world media to take proper measures to see that justice should take its course and not that I should be treated as an orphan without a protector.
My immediate problems are as follows :
1. My health is threatened to have received a bullet from my buttocks through my penis which now renders me useless.
2. My money I lost , my capital of three million five hundred and twenty- five thousand ( 3.525.000FCFA ). Because I was unconscious and did not know what happened to the money under the circumstances and the atmosphere.
3. My hospital bill I am finding it difficult to feed myself. I was admitted into this place and above all how I will settle my hospital bills after discharge. My sister who is my caretaker sometimes travel to places like Douala , Limbe to buy some of the drugs that the hospital cannot provide.
I want to make it known to you : That since this happened I have been taken care of myself from the hospital and till today. I have been moving from one hospital to another because it affects my penis (sex organ).
1. Since this happened the case has been to the military court Buea and has not been call for the first time..
2. The gendarme has been released after one week of ditention at the Tiko brigade.
3. This problem was reported to the Nigeria Consulate Douala where I am leaving and to the Consulate Buea who is in charge of the province where I was shot.
4. After my one week admission into this hospital I wrote an official letter to both Consulates asking for their intervention to this matter. But nothing has been done by this Consulate especially the Consulate of Douala who is my residential consulate.
Dear presenter , I am a good listener to your programs and interview . I have the believe that you alone can question some of these people , the Cameroon minister of defence , the provencial commandant , the president militay court Buea , the Nigeria Ambassador ,the Nigeria Consulate Buea and Douala and I myself.
Why this case has been delay till today 6th January 2004 .
I will therefore be grateful if you will use your good office and human understanding to hekp me out of this demanding situation.
