Subject: May 11th Event with Clinton
Dear MoveOn member,
In this most important election year, every American is entitled to vote and every vote carries the possibility of change. Yet in many key states, 40-50% of African-Americans and Latinos-Americans are not registered to vote. Voter education and mobilization are vitally needed in these communities.
That's why on May 11th, we're co-sponsoring the Voices for Working Families/MoveOn.org Voter Fund "Concert at the Apollo," a special evening of music and comedy at New York City's world famous Apollo Theatre. All proceeds from this event go toward the Voices For Working Families Get Out The Vote drive.
The event will feature performances by the Black Eyed Peas, John Mellencamp, Savion Glover, Rosie Perez, Sandra Bernhardt and many other special guests. The Honorable William J. Clinton, 42nd President of the USA, is the keynote speaker, along with New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, AFLCIO President John Sweeney, myself, and Voices for Working Families President Arlene Holt-Baker.

If you're interested in sponsoring at a higher level, please call (212) 868-4080 or go to: Voices For Working Families > May 11 at the Apollo
Voices for Working Families is a non-partisan group that focus exclusively on registering African-Americans, Latinos-Americans and working mothers to vote. Voices hires people from within each community to go door to door registering folks to vote. Voices then enacts a 10 step follow up with each new registered voter to help them get to the polls, ensuring that their voice is heard and their vote is counted. They're aiming to increase voter participation by as much as 26% in targeted states, and by supporting this event we can help them do it.
I hope you can make it.
Sincerely,
--Wes Boyd
