Blogging the Convention from Sofa-Central

In a moment ripped off from empty-handed.com: HAW HAW HAW, Liza Sabater here blogging the convention from my smoothie and cookie encrusted sofa. Actually, not. I am here, sitting in front of my trusty Mac, Lola.

Yesterday I missed the two most important speeches of the evening because, yes people, I was trolling the blogosphere, reading what other bloggers were writing. The best blogging BY FAR is happening at Jeralynn Merritt's TalkLeft. Go there, right now! Forget about our resident pundit Xian, go read about Hillary's radiance and faboulous suit and the best description of that big swinging alpha-male Bill Clinton, because he can pronounce "nuclear" and Bush is so junior by comparison.

Jeralynn, YOU ROCK! Kick those blogging boys arses, grrrl!

Barak Obama is coming up soon. I am channel-surfing between CNN, C-SPAN and PBS/Channel 13. CNN has by far the best guests. Mo Rocca of The Daily Show went on a riff about that big, bad African queen, Theresa Heinz ---I am not the only one who thinks this, HA! Bob Dole is being the Viagraed Republican member he is; trashing Howard Dean as he praised his speech.

Man, was Dean on fire or what! The standing ovation looked and sounded awesome on TV. The cheers dislodged the crud off my sofa. Dean was Dean all the way and man, and I have to tell, I was expecting a YEAH! Soooo missed that. Still, LOVED the taking back of TEXAS bit. That and his "lies + war" bit earned him the negative rantings of Dole but earned my heart. We like you. Howard, we really, really like you.

I have no idea who is introducing Barak but the resident artist has pointed out how unfortunate his name is, in these times of war.

What's with the Sister Sledge and Honey on the Rockish music?

Obama looks good. Definitely telegenic. Is that a requirement for shooting to the top of the political ranks? That and a blog. Mr. Obama has both.

Oh! We saw Michael Moore in the crowd. Did he get in as press or as part of a delegation? Good to see you in there Mike.

The resident artpundint says Obama is a good speaker --what Afro-anything person isn't? With Obama's speech, now I can identify the sound-bites of this convention :

1. Medical insurance for all
2. "... never go to war without enough truths."
3. Affordable energy.
4. President + Kerry + served in Vietnam
5. Senior citizen + affordable + prescription
6. "The pundits like to slice and dice the states."
7. We are one / We are not divided / We are the United States of America
8. Health Care Crisis
9. God
10. Patriots oppose the war.
11. "This country will reclaim its promise."

OMFG! What a wonderful speech! And Ms. Obama is looking mighty, mighty F I N E.

AAAAHHH!!!! It's RONALD EFFING REAGAN JUNIOR! He's so hot. Ballet does the body good. Now I know why he was not featured more by daddy. His voice is NOT telegenic.

As a voice-over worker, I have to say his speech is pure industrial / pharmaceutical scripting. I had a script like that for J&J once. He needs a bit of that 50's educational / health education movie music in the background and the retro moment would be complete.

"... the theology of the few should not forstall the health of the many."

DEMOCRATS! Run with that sound-bite!

" ...choose between true compassion and blind ideology ... vote for stem-cell research."
