A vote for Kerry is a vote for Teresa Heinz

It's unbeliveable to me that at CNN they're complaining that the Democrats still don't have a clear vision. WHAT!? They spent all their attention to Barak but obviously not on TERESA.

Teresa [teh-REH-za] Heinz just proved to us why we should vote for her.

Yes, contrary to the pundits on CNN and PBS, Barak Obama was not *the star* tonight. It was Teresa. And it goes to show how hypocritical, misoginist and patriarchal not just the media but this country still is. Case in point : Heinz just finished speaking and at CNN they are still talking about Obama.

Unfuckingbelievable.

At PBS a talking-head whined about how she did not give people stories about Kerry because "that's what we want to hear". Well, sorry, no, that is not what we want to hear. We want to hear the woman that (allegedly) sleeps every night with the future President. I want to know where she stands in the issues. I want her to speak her mind. Why? I want to know not just who is the President's wife but who is his life partner. I want to know what does the woman he makes love to (allegedly), thinks of and can speak of during their end-of-the-day pillow talk.

Politics have changed. Where is Laura? Nobody knows. Bush's relationship with his wife, and in turn, her visibility to the world, is as occluse and secretive as his administration. Parallel her invisibility as a partner and equal to Bush's role as a President vis-a-vis Cheney; then you'll understand what I mean.

Teresa Heinz is the perfect anti-Laura and, gasp! Hillary. Why? Because she is powerful without looking strident. She is sexy and wears her femininity comfortably as a source of strenght. She is sincerely funny ... better yet, witty. And many of the pundits that have dismissed her --as she so said herself in her speech-- could not but remark that she will be the "sexiest" First Lady ever to "grace" the White House. Now she is not just opinionated and a loose canon but sexy as well.

Fear the woman. Hear her roar.

The woman was amazing, spectacular, and truly inspired.

A vote for Kerry is a vote for Teresa Heinz.

The idiots at CNN demonstrate why bloggers HAVE TO blog the conventions. Teresa Heinz has articulated beautifully the message of the Democratic Party. They insist that there is no message at all ---and all their attention has fallen on one guy, Barak Obama. Isn't that special? When you have to choose between an African man and an African woman, who do you go with? But of course, the man.

Hypocrites.

It pisses me even more so given that there is not one credentialed black or latino woman blogger at the convention.
