Bush says "I made it very plain. We will not have an all-volunteer army."

This is the mother of all Freudean slips. I can't even think of being the mother of a 17 year-old son (and may we believe even daughter) these days.
KRT Wire | 10/16/2004 | Bush, Kerry sharpen attacks on the campaign trail
"Sen. Kerry decided supporting the troops, even while they were in harm's way, was not as important as shoring up his own political position," Bush said. "In times of great threats to our country, at a time of great challenge in the world, the commander-in-chief must stand on principle, not simply stand on political expediency."
Bush sought to counter suggestions that there will be a military draft if he's re-elected, but the president almost blew his line.
He said that, after a debate with Kerry, "I made it very plain. We will not have an all-volunteer army." The crowd fell silent. "WE WILL have an all-volunteer army," Bush said, quickly catching himself. "Let me restate that. We will not have a draft."

Say it loud, say it proud!
Well actually, he didn't catch himself. When the crowd didn't cheer as he expected he looked at them with a completely dumb founded look after a couple of seconds someone in the crowd yelled back to him you mean WE WILL have an all volunteer army. In which George said huh, oh yeah I mean we will have an all volunteer army...etc. etc....
