November is National Novel Writing Month
by Liza Sabater

If you need a challenge in your life, a way to refocus after the elections (which are on Novemeber 2nd), how about hitting the notebooks and joining the National Novel Writing Month

Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over talent and craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved.

Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.

Anybody interested? I'll take the challenge. If others want to as well, I'll be more than happy to provide space for others on my Wiki.

Stay tuned!

I think this just may be the year I take the plunge with NaNoWriMo. For one thing I'll need something to take my mind after politics for at least a little while. Also, my memoir kind of stalled out when I put it aside to write the Power of Many, so maybe a monthlong new draft is just the kick in the pants that project needs. Trying to convince my local creative crew to all do it togethah!

C'mon baby, don't be shy
