Post-Election Notes From The Blogosphere : Ben Frank of Bellaciao France
by Liza Sabater

B E L L A C I A O - Too many voting "irregularities" to be coincidence -

Why didn't Kerry put up a fight? That in my mind is the most damning evidence proving this was staged election. Why wasn't Kerry concerned about the Diebold CEO "committed to delivering" votes to Bush? Why wasn't he demanding a fair and transparent election process all year long? Why wasn't he concerned with the private corporations controlling our voting process? Millions of regular Americans knew of the potential for fraud, computer security experts have testified that this system is so open to fraud it's insane that anyone would even suggest it's secure, but Kerry and the Democrats never considered demanding a paper trail? What are they, stupid? Or corrupt?

This shows the divide between the grassroots and the party officials : The Democrats should not have the honor to have the grassroots network that raised millions of dollars for them if they are not taking them into account for party decisions.

Politically, in Washington terms, it was the right decision for Kerry to concede. Politically, in grassroots terms, it will cost them dearly during the next four years. People will not be so happy go lucky to support them in the same way.

Frank's post echoes Margaret Cho's comments, and those of many others --It's time to take donkey by the reins ... or just give up on the donkey altogether :

With all this caution and attention focused on our 'elected' officials, we have a moment where we can grasp the brass ring of self-government.

The question is, what does self-government look like or are we reaching for another word?
