Fascism as venture capitalism

At Slashdot | Tech Giants Bankrolling IP Hoarding Start-Up, we're pointed to MSNBC - Factory of the Future?, where we are told that patents are the new software and, thus, need to be taken off the market and hoarded by a small conglomerate of mega-corporations.
Is this fascism as venture capitalism?
If it had no been for Orcinus, I would have not been using the word 'fascism' so often in my posts, but after reading his series of articles on 'pseudo-fascism', you'll appreciate my flagging news like this one with the term.
