There is no better way to "Gung hai fat choi" this "Sun nien fai lok" than with a flaming cock between my breasts
by Liza Sabater

The Chinese calendar's new year celebration for 2005 falls on February 9th; marking the beginning of Year of the Rooster. So what better way than to keep with the flamboyant spirit of the Chinese Rooster than to wear the Flaming Cock T-Shirt!
Last year the lovely people of SharpAsToast asked me if I'd like to try out their t-shirts and give them a mention during the election campaign. Being ever the swag whore that I am, I obliged with a big caveat : If I did not like the T-Shirt, I would not mention them.
Then "tragedy" struck.
USPS fucked up big time with my PO Box and the t-thirt went the way of snail mail oblivion. Or so I thought. The t-shirt was in the post station all along --it just was not in the right "bin". This was way after the emperor was ratified and too late to plug for it's original purpose.
Well, let me tell you, this t-shirt feels really, really nice. SharpAsToast's tagline is "purveyor of wearable drama". Not content to entice my inner drama queen, they call my very public pinko daemon by going out of their way to use non-sweatshop made t-shirts from American Apparel. This dynamic duo of politics and humor is what begets the likes of "Hoover's Your Daddy", "Ripe for Revolt" and my new favorite, "Braille Tits" (which is a cami with TITS written in big, bold Braille).
So if you really want to Gung hay fat choy this Sun nien fai lok, check out SharpAsToast. And tell them this flaming blogdiva sent y'all.
UPDATE:
This is the year 4703 in the Chinese lunar calendar. Celebrations started this last Friday all around NYC --even though the actual New Year is not until the 9th. Check out the Lunar New Year 2005 NYC Chinatown Celebrationst and MoCA - Museum of Chinese in the Americas for a list of events happening in Chinatown and elsewhere in the city.
We're taking the kids to watch the Chinatown parade on the 13th. We'll try to stay eastward below canal (the place gets mobbed) and then will scoot over to Dim Sum GoGo, not just the best restaurant in all of Chinatown, but the best dim sum I've eaten on either coast.

Nice shirt. Seriously. I didn't really read the story, but I'm sure it was amusing. I honestly couldn't take my eyes off your shirt. Your beautiful, amazing shirt. Great shirt. You must make your parents very proud.
Wow.

AW SHUCKS!
Y'all are making me blush ... but what the heck ... TELL ME MORE!!!
After so many years trying to get respect as a nerd and living as a closet babe, I've just decided before I go to seed I'm gonna have some fun.
So thanks for the compliments :)

BTW,
In Puerto Rico, sometimes a bootilicious babe is called una potra or filly. The appelative is somewhat funny given I was born in The year of the horse. Somewhat because, unless you're a Danish gaucho with a penchant for poetry, don't call me potra. I hate it. He, on the other hand, can call me anything he wants :)
