Is there hope for a true blue New York?
by Liza Sabater
I hope so. I like Eliot Spitzer. A lot. I think he has the bravado and the smarts needed to govern this godforsaken state.
The Siena College Research Institute poll had Spitzer leading Pataki, 53 percent to 30 percent, up from a 51 percent-to-35 percent lead for the attorney general in a Siena poll last month.Asked if they would vote to re-elect Pataki, just 24 percent of voters surveyed said they would, while 60 percent said they would prefer someone else. Just 37 percent of voters had a favorable opinion of Pataki while 50 percent had an unfavorable opinion.
