Why do Republican judges want Terri Schiavo to die?
by John in DC - 3/24/2005 10:31:00
So now the religious right and congressional republicans think even Reagan appointed judges are too activist and too liberal. Then who IS proper to be a judge if even a Reagan appointee is too liberal? Or, is the problem simply that the religious right and the GOP won't accept ANY judge that doesn't rubber stamp any and all of their extreme views?

Say it loud, say it proud!
the problem with this case is the idea of maintaining Terri's privacy. It doesn't matter if the judges are rightist or leftists: they are judges who should of known that a individual was being manipulated via a media abuse of power. The issue of privacy is the key: if the judges judged that by both contesting parties having taken their case to the public, that the dignity of the individual was compromised. This is a form of abuse, and hence, both parties where guilty of victimizing the individual by exposing ones frailty to the world without the consent of the subject.
Hence, in my opinion, there should of been a state assigned guardian, and the husband and the parents should of been given a gag order from sharing images and making comments that go against maintaining ones privacy.
If the state had guadianship, the tube would not have been pulled, due to the states traditional erring on the side of life, when there is a question of whether one is able to comprehend after a coma. Objective tests to see how much of the brain was working would also help guide with advance directives.
All of this should of happened in private, and the individual not made prey to the horrors of politics.
just an opinion
