What's on the plate : culturekitchen's new sister sites plus events galore and a cancellation
by Liza Sabater
OK. Nobody really missed me during these last two weeks. Lorraine and Jeff have been batting them out of the park one after another and, well, snif, nobody misses me.
There is good reason for this --and I am going to pull a political version of my dear friends, LustyLady, Alizinha, Alexist and Nichelle. Here is goes!
I have been working furiously to put out not one but 2 new websites: the combo community site for BlogSheroes and BlogHerCon and a new grassroots news and activism community blog for New Yorkers and by New Yorkers, The Daily Gotham.
I will be explaining further what these projects are all about. There's also several events happening at the same time. That's why there is a cancellation:
The BrownBlogger.com Meetup has been cancelled
Nichelle got a freakish last minute work assignment out of town, and I have a Personal Democracy Forum event to attend. So we are cancelling tomorrow's Brown Bloggers meetup. I'd like to move it to next Sunday and combine it with the BlogSheroes meetup. Y'all give me a holla about that, will ya?
This week there are blog events galore here in New York City : On Monday I will be locked away in CUNY with the likes of Arianna Huffington, Doc Searles, Halley Suitt, Micah Sifry and Andrew Raisj at the Second Annual Personal Democracy Forum.
On Tuesday, CivicSpaceLabs All-day Users Workshop and Conference at The Tank. Then that same evening I on the Rhizome's Blogging and The Arts panel at The New Museum; which overlaps with NYU Balsa & DFNYC's Candidates Party at Coda.
Then on Wednesday, there's PlanetWork.net's monthly networking meeting.
Hopefully, I'll be able to stop the madness by Thursday.
So this is the reason why I have not had any neurons left to blog. Especially with all the double overtime I have been putting at The Daily Gotham and BlogSheroes sites.
UPDATE: Have you noticed some of the new advertising sections on the site? Yeah, baby! culturekitchen is a proud member of the BlogAds Liberal Advertising Network. cultkit, Atrios, DailyKos, Chris Nolan, Oliver Willis, MyDD, BOP News. More than 50 liberal, pinko leftists with their own Jesus General and all. What more can you want from a blogad? More Pinkos!

Liza, is it at all possible you could advertise a Sheroes gathering without using crude words for female body parts? Just curious. I admit I'm a bit of an old-fashioned prude, so I'm reluctant to put your clever ads on my blog if they keep advertising "tits" and "clits" and "vulvas" and so forth. Aren't we more than the sum of our sexual organs yet?
