The She-Devils made me do it!
by Liza Sabater

When I am jet-lagged, I can hardly chew gum and walk at the same time. But the multi-talented women (and yeah, yeah, some of the men) took great pictures with their digital doo-hickies.

The problem for me has been getting access to the the frigging pictures themselves.

The people at Flickr have separated link and referrer access to a photo from it's actual availability. What I mean is, just because I make pic public and release it with a Creative Commons license, my venerated colleagues will not necessarily have direct linking access to them.

The right combination of permissions just eludes me BUT, if I blog the friggin pictures, I have direct access to the image source without Flickr stepping in and blocking it. For the life of me, I have no idea why they have this set it up as so.

So, in the interest of making my life easy ... and also having a place for podcasting, herewith I declare culturekitchen mediablog as open for business for blogging my original photos and podcasts and reblogging other people's digital stuff.

Check it out!

Say what? I'm not sure what you mean -- if the photo is on Flickr, and is not private, there should be no problem?

Now I'm confused...

ME TOO!

I thought if the photo was public AND it was released under the CC license, then you could link to the image directly but you can't! It's the oddest thing. BUT if I use their blog interface? Then I'm ready to go. I really don't understand the logic behind that one.

Ah ha! I found your Flickr page. I never knew you were so hot! Even at age 1.

I have some pics from my trip to PR on Flickr, though I need to ad some more.

Of course you need comments on your media blog.

My goodness, but I have scrawny fingers.

C'mon baby, don't be shy
