ABC News: Doctor Reprimanded for Calling Patient Fat
"Part of my job is to tell you the truth," Bennett said. "You come in here, you pay $75 to sit on the couch. I'm not going to sit here and talk about the weather with you. If you're noticeably obese, I know that you are going to have future health problems."

Although in general I agree with you. The woman in this case was overweight and unhealthy (treated for type II diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure). Her husband is in as bad a shape as she. And this doctor is being reprimanded basically because he told her that when she killed her husband, she would be sexually unattractive to all other men.
The doctor was asked to apologize, and refused.
Now I agree that the woman WASN'T GETTING THE CLUE that she needed to make major changes... but I'm not completely convinced that the doctor's proclamation was totally appropriate either.
