Move over Bush, Dick Cheney's Impeachment might come before yours
by Liza Sabater

Impeach Bush? How about Cheney first!
It seems that Bush's impeachment would have to be post-poned a bit because Cheney's may come sooner than we all expected. Special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald has smelled blood and he's traced it all the way to the vice-president's office:
Cheney's Office Is A Focus in Leak Case | In grand jury sessions, including with New York Times reporter Judith Miller, Fitzgerald has pressed witnesses on what Cheney may have known about the effort to push back against ex-diplomat and Iraq war critic Joseph C. Wilson IV, including the leak of his wife's position at the CIA, Miller and others said. But Fitzgerald has focused more on the role of Cheney's top aides, including Chief of Staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, lawyers involved in the case said. One former CIA official told prosecutors early in the probe about efforts by Cheney's office and his allies at the National Security Council to obtain information about Wilson's trip as long as two months before Plame was unmasked in July 2003, according to a person familiar with the account.
It is not clear whether Fitzgerald plans to charge anyone inside the Bush administration with a crime. But with the case reaching a climax -- administration officials are braced for possible indictments as early as this week-- it is increasingly clear that Cheney and his aides have been deeply enmeshed in events surrounding the Plame affair from the outset.
Several commenters on this blog, especially over at the discussion that exploded at Viggo and the impeachment buzz, have asked for proof about Bush's lies.
I find it hard to believe there are people out there so blinded by loyalty to the party and their leader that they would not even have a little twinge of doubt about Bush's motives to go to war or his handling of the Katrina disaster. It may be New York City Republicans are of a different kind, but I know too many of them to know there are Republicans out there who are disgusted and even ashamed they voted for the man.
First, let's quickly review what would constitute grounds for impeachment. As per Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution,
Article Two of the United States Constitution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | The President and other executive officers may be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate. Upon conviction for treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors, the President, Vice President or civil officer automatically leaves office. What exactly constitutes a "high" crime or misdemeanor is up to the House of Representatives. Furthermore, the Senate may choose to impose an additional penalty by barring the convict from ever holding an office under the United States.
The whole debate over Bush's possible impeachment are grounded on the 16 words he uttered during his 2003 State of the Union Address,
September Dossier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."
These are the words that started it all.
With that in mind, let me direct you doubting Thomases to a few resources where you're allegiance to the chief may be tested :

It's time that egotistical, self seeking, lying, nepotistic, (if there isn't such a word there should be!),hypocritical members of this government were outed! Unfortunately we have no-one to replace them it seems: where is the left? Where are the voices of the moderates, the next generation leaders, ready to take advantage of this crumbling situation? The time is NOW guys!

The above will link you to an article that completely vindicates the president on these storied 16 words. Facts, my dear, you must always look to the facts. There was no lie, and there is no grounds for impeachment. Now, you insulted me on the Viggo thread, and claimed I offered nothing and only flame-baited. Well, I offer the above link. Read it soberly. And then stop your paranoid nonsense.
