bitch, please

So I didn't watch "the speech". I completely spazed out. As Pops would say,I was just a total soixante huitard yesterday. I did horrible marxist-leninist things like spend some care and and quality time with my kids.

The Ass-in-Chief

hail to the ass!

  1. I expect Mr. President BrotherMan, what with the piece of woman he calls his wife, to appreciate a fine piece of ass once in a while.
  2. I love, Love, LOVE the expression on Nicolas Sarkozy's face. You totally get the thought process behind those eyes: you can see he thinks Obama is awesome EXACTLY because he's checking that ass as he is himself in the process of doing so.
  3. I am SHOCKED that Lula DaSilva is totally oblivious to what's happening. Brazilians are notorious for loving a bunda.

PS : Almost forgot to link to Anne Althouse's snarkful deconstruction of the pic.

Colbert Report Full Episodes Political Humor Jeff Goldblum

Last week a huckster from Australia declared Jeff Goldblum had died in New Zealand and media all around the world proceed to repeat the hoax. I actually saw on @Twitter that, contrary to the reports, the man was in New York City filming a tv show.

Well, Stephen Colbert milked it for all what it was worth. Watch how they play up the "if it was on @Twitter, it must be true" meme. And witness what true comedic talent is as Jeff, to wit, agrees.

The Meme Of The Moment - Your NPR Name

NPR Studio 5A DCP_2339

Hi, this is Limza Karlsruhe and you're listening to All Things Considered on NPR. This silliness comes courtesy of Your NPR Name:

So finally, after years of Fresh Air sign-off ambitions, we came up with a system for creating our own NPR Names. Here’s how it works: You take your middle initial and insert it somewhere into your first name. Then you add on the smallest foreign town you’ve ever visited.

Looking at my name though, I think I should have gone with Lizma Rincón. I could be the host for "This Puerto Rican Life".

QUOTES

Intellectual Property Rights block technology transfer and TRIPS (trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights) promote monopolies on seeds and medicines and piracy of Third World biodiversity and indigenous knowledge.

That is why we had to fight WR Grace and USDA to revoke the Neem Patent, we had to fight Ricetec to prevent them claiming our basmati as their invention. And we have successfully fought

The rules of The World Trade Organization were designed to impoverish poor people and poor countries, transform their biodiversity and water commons into corporate property so that seed multi-national corporations like Monsanto could sell us our seeds for $1 tr. per year and water giants like Suez and Bechtel could sell us our water for another trillion. And the free trade rules of agriculture are robbing Indian peasants of $1 trillion per year through falling prices because of $400 billion subsidies in rich countries distorting trade by distorting prices.

This is not just a recipe for poverty, it is a recipe for genocide. In the free trade world that Bhagwati upholds, peasants sell kidneys to pay debt for poisons, displaced rural women sell their bodies to feed their children, hospitals become centers of organ theft, and India which sold the finest fabrics and tastiest spices to the world becomes the dumping ground for the toxic wste of 9/11 and the exploded and unexploded shells from the war in Afganistan and Iraq.

Free trade is becoming a mechanism to take our wealth, our biodiversity, our minerals, our brains and give us trash and toxic in exchange. It is an exchange of "bads" for "goods". This is not comparative advantage, it is loot. Which is why we say, "Our World is not for sale".
