Time for "Spawn of Satan" and "Beast of the Apocalypse"

I am not making this up: These are the nicknames we gave our kids when they were babies. Guess who's the spawn and who's the beast:

'Tis what I call ... ahem ...mommyblogging. Heh.

PS : You know these kids are Sabater just by looking at their eyes. Everybody in the Sabater branch of my family have those big almond-shaped dark brown eyes.

What I Think about Palin: A List for Undecided Moms

Cross posted at dkos

I am on an email list of women who were all pregnant together nearly 12 years ago. That's all we have in common. There are radical left-wingers, radical right-wingers, activists of all stripes and everyone in between. They just finished a ferocious debate about Sarah Palin and the attacks on her as a mother.

I didn't say a word, which is weird because when it comes to politics, I'm usually up front with the quips trying to sway the moderates. I wanted to wait until I could come up with a list (and control my temper), because I wanted to give the independents and swing voters in the group something to really think about. This is what I told them:

I think she's drop-dead gorgeous.

I think Tina Fey had better come back to SNL to play her in the skits.

I think she's a dynamic speaker.

I think she's closely tied to Ted Stevens.

I think it's no one's business but hers and Todd's how they run their family life.

I think she's a secessionist who is more loyal to Alaska than the Union.

I think she's a force to be reckoned with.

Mommyblogger Jenn Satterwhite, is tweeting the Texas caucus [UPDATE]

9:51 pm EST
The caucus is in full swing now after waiting for more than 2 hours. She tweeted when they called the county delegates.

###

Jenn Satterwhite of Mommy Needs Coffee is tweeting her caucus in Texas.

She already voted and says they first got crammed into a room for the caucus and had to be moved to a larger space. The amount of people at the caucus is unprecedented.

I'll update as I get her tweets.

Very exciting!

QUOTES

*&@)(?/!!$#( ENOUGH already!

How weird a year was it? Here's how weird:

  • O.J. actually got convicted of something.
  • Gasoline hit $4 a gallon -- and those were the good times.
  • On several occasions, "Saturday Night Live" was funny.
  • There were a few days there in October when you could not completely rule out the possibility that the next Treasury secretary would be Joe the Plumber.
  • Finally, and most weirdly, for the first time in history, the voters elected a president who -- despite the skeptics who said such a thing would never happen in the United States-- was neither a Bush nor a Clinton.
