Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ...

I just saw the trailer for the movie "W : A Life Misunderestimated" which features Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads and thought, how appropriate a song to start the day today. Am afraid we will  have to use it as the soundtrack for tonight during the last presidential debate.

Lyrics after the jump!

Brtiney Spears' "Womanizer"

Here's a hint : When am caught in a loop of videos or gossip posts, it's because I've been doing some serious pondering in preparation for a long post/article.

Hence La Britney.

What a hot mess.  I don't remember so much nakedness in a music video. What do you think?

When white people play black music : The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain's rendition of Isaac Haye's "Shaft"

There is nothing like seeing a middle-aged white guy playing the ukelele while singing the words :  To "Who's the man who will risk his dick for his brother man".

It makes the moment just totally awesome.

I cracked up when they cut to the one black guy in the audience, as if seeking his approval. Which didn't make it any easy when they start singing the song.

Well, that was worth some perusing of YouTube. The Ukele Orchestra of Great Britain are known to scream Should I Stay Or Should I Go, brood on Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights, or rock it with Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Dear Mr President

The march was an amazing success. It took 3 hours for the marchers to go by Union Square East and 15 th Street, the place I usually park myself during marches. It took 3 hours for 350,000 to peacefully march by. It was unbelievable and yes, photos are forthcoming.

In the meantime, I leave with an amazing YouTube contribution by Rosie O'Donnell, using Pink's Dear Mr. President :

Juanes - LA CAMISA NEGRA

La Camisa Negra
by Juanes

cama cama cama baby
te digo con disimulo

Tengo la camisa negra
ya tu amor no me interesa
lo que ayer me supo a gloria
hoy me sabe a pura

Juanes - DAMELO

Dámelo
by Juanes

A mi lugar favorito

Mira nena soy sincero

Dámelo dámelo dame lo que quiero
Sin excusas ni rodeos

Dámelo dámelo dame lo que quiero
Eso es todo lo que quiero
Dámelo dámelo dame lo que quiero

Words to live by

"My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures, have become clearer and stronger with advancing years and I see no reason for thinking I shall ever change them."

— -- Abraham Lincoln, to Judge J. S. Wakefield, after Willie Lincoln's death (Willie died in 1862) quoted by Joseph Lewis in "Lincoln the Freethinker," also appearing in Remsburg's "Six Historic Americans"
