Go back to school

No, Mars has not gone through the same climate shift. You are repeating right wing talking points without knowing the science, apparently.

Global warming is not a scam panic. Re-read the diary and argue based on facts, not random statements. There is ample evidence of the phenomenon, the atmospheric chemistry is fairly well understood, and scientists are about 95% in agreement over the causes of global warming. Not ONE SINGLE PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLE disagrees with this consensus. The only articles that contradict the global warming hypothesis are non-peer reviewed and are mostly funded by oil companies. I read Science and Nature, the two top journals in science. My main focus is biology, but I also keep up on the climate articles and I can assure you the scientific community knows full well global warming is a real threat. Denying global warming makes about as much sense as denying evolution.

If you want to find out what the experts are saying, or want to argue a point with the scientists who study it, go to Real Climate. Real Climate is a discussion forum for scientists in the field. If you want to find more scientific information designed for laypeople then go to the Union of Concerned Scientists website.

Are you prepared to become INFORMED before you talk about it?

Words to live by

People seem to think that by posting in threads and agreeing with other people they are changing the world. They are not. They are posting in threads online. The universe will not be altered by forum threads, even those which are very wry. Being outraged online is a form of entertainment, and refreshing a thread to receive a hit of consensus packs the thrill of genuine activism without requiring any sweat. I'm afraid this test may require more from the community than a sardonic jpeg.
