How did our New York Senators and Congresspeople vote?

Thanks to Phil we have the breakdown. Make sure you also check out our coverage at The Daily Gotham.

Did the New York delegation really understand that the hell is going on with the manufactured economic crisis? I can most certaily attest to the fact that my Congresswoman, Carolyn Maloney, did nothing all of last week or during the weekend to let me know she was on the ball with this crisis.

So shame on the NY delegation for buying into the Paulson and Bush crap.

BTW : That Randi Kuhl had the temerity to go against the neocon's manufactured economc hysteria earns him massive brownie points in what promises to be a tight Congressional race.

BTW 2 : Am grateful that at least we have one Latino, José Serrano, who didn't goose-step it with the Democrats either. ¡Bravo José!

thank you

Ok, (1) I friggin' love that picture and (2)thank you for being the voice of reason today. I'm so upset that the dems are basically rolling over to accept the crap Paulson is shoveling at them just b/c they get to get some housing protection out of it. Srsly? $700 bil for a promise to take foreclosure seriously?? And, yeah, this sucks for average American's stocks and 401k, but think how much more it will suck when our assets still plunge in value and we're $700 bil poorer too.

P.S. I interviewed Maloney and tried to talk to her about some of the econ issues. Nice woman, great work on women's issues, didn't have a clue on economic issues.

Words to live by

"I am tolerant of all creeds. Yet if any sect suffered itself to be used for political objects I would meet it by political opposition. In my view church and state should be separate, not only in form, but fact. Religion and politics should not be mingled."

— -- Millard Fillmore, address during 1856 Presidential election, from Albert J. Menendez and Edd Doerr, The Great Quotations on Religious Freedom
