Today is "D" Day : Calling all Democrats from Nassau County to vote in the special election

If you are a Nassau County (NY) blogger or reader or know of anybody who lives there, make sure you get out the vote by 9 pm tonight.

Keep up with what's happening online and off at The Daily Gotham. We have information on phone banking. If you want to drop by their campaign office, give them a call at 516-393-0700.

Just to underscore the importance of this race, we have word that this special election has broken all records in New York, costing a whopping $5,000,000.

It has also prompted The Brennan Center for Justice, Common Cause/NY, DEMOS, League of Women Voters/NYS, NYPIRG to create a task force, hotline and blog to monitor voter suppression in the county. Yes, because even though this is a majority white county, the 20% of minority voters in the district could decide the election.

So hop over to The Daily Gotham to keep up on all what's happening.

good photo

good photo, and you know what Hillary is telling Craig Johnson under her breath. "You owe me the favor now, and that means your endorsement and support in the presidential, when and where I want it to happen" Hillary has worked very hard over the last eight years all over new york state and all over the country getting democrats elected and she doubtless has a lot of favors to call in. A candidate like Obama, great as he may be, simply hasn't had the time to go out for all these people as she has. Neither Edwards, who isn't the star Hillary is and would never have been asked for favors as much as she gets asked. It is called playing the game. She plays it well. Look close and she's probably winking at Craig. He knows what the deal is.

Seriously, he owes her very little

compared to what he owes Eliot Spitzer. Eliot broke a major, and I mean, a major tradition of Democrat governors in NY, which was to not "meddle" in regional matters like elections. But he totally shattered that one with this election. Trust me, this one is for Eliot to win, not Hillary.
