Info: Join the Weld County "Democrats in Action" and Democrats Work as we help with tornado recovery efforts in Weld County.

Volunteers will help remove debris, cut down trees and begin to clear a key entryway to the City of Greeley known to locals as “Treasure Island”.

Please wear work gloves, hats, as well as sunscreen and bring any tools or equipment that might be useful including wheel barrows, hand saws, gas powered chain saws, small tractors with buckets or backhoes.

If you are unable to do the physical labor involved, but wish to help, then donations of bottled water, snacks and lunch items are gratefully accepted from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

We will meet at the site which will be marked by banners, across the street and northwest of the State Farm Regional Office, 1555 Promontory Circle, Greeley, Colorado, 80634.

All volunteers should call the Weld County Democratic Office at 970.351.7047 to indicate when you hope to be in attendance and what, if any, items you might wish to bring.

Notes: The first 15 volunteers will receive a free Democrats Work t-shirt!

Words to live by

"I must admit moreover that it may not be easy, in every possible case, to trace the line of separation between the rights of religion and the Civil authority with such distinctness as to avoid collisions and doubts on unessential points. The tendency of a usurpation on one side or the other, or to a corrupting coalition or alliance between them, will be best guarded by an entire abstinence of the Government from interference in any way whatever, beyond the necessity of preserving public order, and protecting each sect against trespass on its legal rights by others."

— -- James Madison, letter to Reverend Adams, in Robert L. Maddox, Separation of Church and State: Guarantor of Religious Freedom (1987) p. 39
